We Are Being Led Over the Cliff by Liars, Cheats and Crooks

Prez. BO has brought into his inner circle liars, cheats and outright crooks. Only one, former democrat Senate leader Tom Daschle, got away. Perhaps it was too soon after tax cheat, Timothy F. Geithner, was confirmed as secretary of the Department of the Treasury by a senate that has its own questionable ethics.

Or, maybe, his $140,000 in back taxes was too much after Geithner's paltry $40,000 lapse in paying payroll taxes when he was at the International Monetary Fund. Of course he will get much more skimming from the taxpayers.

It does not matter. There are always more than enough crooks to take Tommy's place. For example, his replacement, Katherine Sebelius, secretary of Health and Human Services, also had unpaid past taxes; obviously another accounting mistake. Others with tax problems, all unintentional, are Labor Secretary Hilda Solis and US Trade Representative Ron Kirk.

Then there was Nancy Killefer who was BO's nominee to be chief performance officer. One can only imagine what duties that entails. Poor Nan withdrew her nomination after it was found out she had a lien on some property she owned for $946.69 because she did not pay her taxes in 2005.

It is obvious that her tax debt is small potatoes compared to BO's Chicago cronies. She never would have fit in with the BO's crowd. And what a crowd it is. Less than seven months into his stint it is clear this group gathered by the Prez, is far ahead of the curve of being the biggest crooks ever amassed in the White House.

And still the few mentioned here barely scratch the surface. There are his ethically challenged czar's and the endless staff his appointees hire.

While BO's cronies are making deals left and right to retire in style, we the taxpaying people would be getting off light if that was all their was. In fact, BO wants to take over the country and our freedoms.

He already has banks, cars and wall street in his portfolio, but his crowning jewels to complete his role as omnipotent leader are the cap and trade scam and the ruination of the world's best health care.

After he puts his mark on this program by forcing out the private sector, you had better hope you are healthy because there will be no decent care for the sick.

While his sycophants are ready to follow him over the cliff (they probably think they are going hang-gliding) the rest of us have to keep fighting for our eroding freedoms.

Health Care Debate is All About Obama

While Prez. Obama is running around trying to get enough people to pressure congress to pass some type, any type of health care "reform," his mantra is, "It is not about me."

To the contrary, passing socialized heath care is all about Obama's insatiable need for power and control. Grabbing all of this country's health care along with the huge portion of money and all of the power to appoint buddies to make life and death decisions for you or your loved ones, would be like getting the liberals equivalent of the Holy Grail.

Are you old? Obama's prescription? If you are in pain, take a pill and save us lots of money by dying.

Is the baby you are carrying going to have some type of defect that will cost lots of money to fix or manage? Do not be selfish and have the baby. Kill it before it is born. Think of it this way; It will save you hours of care and the taxpayers a lot of money. (An excuse since saving taxpayer money is not on BO's radar screen).

If you get some type of life threatening disease where treatment will only prolong the inevitable by a year or two, do you want Obama's buds to make the decision whether you will be able to have the treatment and an opportunity for a little more precious time with your family?

The question I always come back to is, if this is such a utopian health care plan envisioned for us, Obama and congressional members who favor it, why are you exempting yourselves from the plan? Why are you still going to be able to access health care from private providers of your choice that we, the taxpayers must pay for? Why was this exemption one of the first things put into the, it certainly cannot be called health care, ever expanding bill?

Our president, and select members of congress, are really looking out for we the people. Just think, if a regular person of Senator Kennedy's age had his unfortunate condition, we would already be dead as treatment would have been denied. Should Senator Kennedy be treated for his brain tumor? Yes. Should other Americans of his age be treated for their illnesses? Not according to what Obama said.

Yes, You Could be Wrong About Global Warming

Several nights ago the weatherman on a Milwaukee TV channel said there was going to be surprise rain later in the evening. Not unusual except he had been predicting no rain for several nights in the week long forecast.

His explanation was that the computer models were wrong. And we are going to spend how many trillions of dollars, at the loss of how many thousands of jobs, and how much carnage on the road in little stupid cars to follow algore over the cliff on his faulty computer models that do not include cloud activity and global precipitation among other important scientific measurements? How high are costs for everything we do and everything we use supposed to go? Even Prez BO said our energy costs would necessarily skyrocket.

Actually, it is not necessary. It is not even science. It is power and greed. Algore, who has already made a fortune on his hoax (Barnum would be proud) stands to go from a multimillionaire to multibillionaire if the libs push this through congress. China and India will have no trouble taking over the top 2 spots in every economical measurement if we continue with this man caused global warming mantra.

By the way, Wisconsin is having a record cool summer.

America: Land of the Good For Humanity

A friend sent me this e-mail. Even if you have seen it before it serves as a reminder of using power for good, as opposed to what is going on with the current administration. A power grab for the sake of amasing power to use only for selected individuals; not all citizens, not country not humanity.

Start of e-mail:
At a time when our president and other politicians tend to apologize for our country`s prior actions, here`s a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments about our country.

JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when DeGaule decided to pull out of NATO. de Gaulle said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible.
Rusk responded "does that include those who are buried here?
de Gaulle did not respond.

You could have heard a pin drop.

When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush.
He answered by saying, 'Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.'

You could have heard a pin drop.

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying 'Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?'
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: 'Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half
a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?'

You could have heard a pin drop.

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?'
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied,
'Maybe it's because the Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.'

You could have heard a pin drop.

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...

Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.
"You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked  sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.
"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.”
The American said, 'The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France!”
The American senior gave the Frenchman along hard look.
Then he quietly explained, 'Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't finda single Frenchmen to show a passport to."

You could have heard a pin drop.

If you are proud to be an American, pass this on! If not, delete it.

I am proud to be of this land, AMERICA

All the President's Czars

So Prez BO's Car Czar, Steve Raitner, who said he knows nothing about making cars, is leaving his job because of some kind of legal trouble in New York. Not to worry. The Prez has appointed a former auto union boss to take his place. Comforting to know that this guy probably knows something about making cars. He will undoubtedly keep everyone in line using the unique style union bosses seem to favor.

Speaking of Czars, it is nearing three dozen. These people are appointed by the Prez to be his aid in some area he needs help (no wonder there are so many). They are paid somewhere in the neighborhood of 175,000 dollars to do what the Prez wants them to do. There are no job descriptions, no over site and they report directly to BO.

There are cabinet secretaries, confirmed by the senate, who cover every aspect of anything that goes on in this country. They are subject to some kind of over site (does anybody really believe the congress watches anything except their polls and the size of their re-election coffers), though they try to stay under the radar scurrying around like self inflated bureaucratic rats trying to look busy.

The Czars, however, are not even on the radar screen. Is there any DC type who, without a teleprompter, can name all the Czars, what they are czaring and what that means? Can they name the Czar who wrote a radical book , which among other tidbits, states his belief in population control and forced sterilization? Do they know what this person's duties are? Hint: It has to do with experiments.

When Mz. Pelosi says she has no knowledge of what is going on behind closed doors when the Prez and Czars get together, for once she will be telling the truth.

Obama Meets the Pope

I wonder if PrezBO thinks the Pope does not keep up with news such as his reinstating funding for abortions around the world?

BO did tell the Pope on his recent visit, that he wanted to reduce the number of abortions. Do you think the Pope believed him? Probably not or he would not have given BO a book that explains the church's' opposition to abortion.

Could it be the Pope also heard that BO once voted it was fine to go ahead and kill a baby old enough to live outside the womb because some women are too stupid to make the decision until the child can live on its own if only given the chance? Must be how someone came up with the term, partial birth abortion.

It would better be called killing a child one breath away from life. Except if the abortion is botched in which case it can be called killing a live human being who is being denied the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness on the grounds of inconvenience. In other words, the child has no hope.

So, BO tells the Pope he wants to reduce abortions but supports abortion rights. He wants to improve conditions economically and socially, so women don't feel they have to have an abortion which is why is reinstated funding for abortions in other country's. (Talk about meddling in the sovereignty of other nations).

The whole reasoning is dumb. Women in any economic condition do not have to have an abortion. It is their choice. Just as they can choose not to have sex in the first place, or use protection if they do have sex. They can choose to give the baby up for adoption. They can choose to keep the baby and raise it themselves. They can get welfare if they find themselves in an unimproved economic condition.

And, if BO wants to change a woman's economic condition for the better, which I am going to assume is what he meant, he certainly is messing that up with his just wing it economic policy. Unless I made the wrong assumption and he means women losing their jobs or small business is a good economic change. The way he double talks it is hard to know what he means. Maybe that is the way he likes it.

Health Care: Four Things Government Needs to Address Before They Mess This Up Too

1.Will this congress, who has already passed massive, job crippling spending bills they probably still have not read, agree to have the same health care plan they want for the rest of us? Which begs the question, why are these ordinary citizen representatives getting top of the line health care paid for by the taxpayers in the first place?

2.Will this congress put meaningful tote reform into their bill? Curb frivolous lawsuits by making the loser pay all costs associated with the suit. Cap compensation to actual costs of the event and whatever further care may be needed. Have the lawyers receive usual and customary compensation fees for their cases as they have done for the physicians.
Lawyers will not like this because the usual and customary compensation paid to physicians for government patients does not cover the actual cost of treatment. That alone would stop theatrical stunts by lawyers (Edwards channeling fetuses) for large payoffs.

3.Will the congress support eliminating coverage for people who are not legal citizens? In case of an emergency stabilize the patient and send them back to their country of origin. Eliminate the anchor baby law as a disincentive for women ready to give birth trying to illegally enter our country.

4.Will congress agree to get out of the health care business altogether including Medicaid and Medicare which are rife with fraud and incompetence and almost bankrupt, not to mention drowning in a sea of bureaucracy? If you are serious about bringing down the cost, encourage competition.

There was a time when non-profit hospital care was mainly for the indigent while people who could pay were treated at home. Today, according to the Wall Street Journal, half of the approximately 5,500 hospitals in the United States are not for profit, meaning they do not pay federal, state or local taxes in order to help them care for the poor, they actually have cash surpluses, aggressively collect on patient bills, and yet, provide less care for poor people than the tax breaks they get.

Vice President Biden admitted, “We guessed wrong” when it came to massive stimulus taxpayer money that, among other things, was supposed to help create jobs. Government bureaucrats are not capable of improving our health care system either which is already the best in the world. They will definitely be guessing and making it up as they go on this bill too; growing government while we wait months if not years for treatment under their style of health care If they want to do this to us, it is only fair they do it to themselves too.

Sarah Palin - A Model Politicians Would Do Well to Follow

Sarah Palin's recent resignation as Governor of Alaska has political pundits tongues wagging. Not about the scandalous reason for her stepping down, there is no scandal though the opposition has turned over every rock in Alaska trying to find one. What they cannot find, they make up. She has had to spend a fortune defending herself against scurrilous and frivolous charges.

In her short time in the national spot light, Governor Palin has showed she is not a usual politician which is a big reason she has endeared herself to many of us in America while scaring others.

The prevailing thought of those who like to think they are in the know, is that she did irreparable damage to her political career. The best way she can hope to be president, they say, is to stay in the governor's chair. The babble goes on from both astute and vacuous political watchers.

Will her resignation stop the incredibly stupid, mean spirited articles, comments and jokes aimed at her and her family? Unfortunately, that would be expecting decent behavior from a group of incredibly ignorant and cruel people. The same people who defend any type of debauchery committed by their people but have no bounds for their debasement of people whose opinions differ from theirs.

From the moment Governor Palin made her debut in the public arena she has been scrutinized. Her family has been scrutinized. Her children have been mocked and treated as if they were some kind of aliens. Nothing has been out of bounds, or over the limit for these people who neither understand nor practice common decency.

Governor Palin has captured the imagination of citizens sick of most politicians. She truly is one of us common folk in fly over country. We imagine how good government could be if all elected officials were as honest as she is, had half of her common sense and the bravery to stand up for the people against corruption.

If politicians embraced those of us who love our country, revel in our freedom and are not afraid to try and to fail without government interference, as Mrs. Palin does, we would continue to be a great country. If they respected people who have worked hard and made something of their lives, as she has, instead of punishing them, we would not be in the mess they have created.

If politicians did not look down at the taxpayers who pay their salaries and expect them to behave and act in our country's best interest; if they worried more about honoring their oath of office instead of their political future, we might give them a little bit of the respect we have for Mrs. Palin.

Elected officials would do well to emulate Mrs. Palin. She is smart, accomplished and plain speaking. She does not covet an elected office so much that she will do whatever it takes, including ignoring her family's needs and engaging in corruption, to further her ambition. She will pay her bills like the majority of us have to do. Work for it.

God bless you Sarah Palin, and everyone in your dear family. You do what you think is best for you and your family. And unlike those who think they know best, if and when you plan to run for public office, we will be ready to support you. An honest politician is too rare for us to turn our backs.

What is Great About the Great Depression?

My parents used to tell me stories about the great depression. I always wondered what was so great about a terrible economical situation. From 1931 to 1940 the unemployment rate was double digits going as high as 25% in 1933.
It was the only time in the last century, according to government statistics, unemployment was double digits. Will we now be setting the record for this century? Maybe somebody ought to tell our elected officials. They seem to think we are floating in cash the way they are spending.
Hello? Hello you wise and smart people in Washington D.C. I'm here in a small town in Wisconsin (our state government is another story). You know, fly-over country.
How is the stimulus working for you? Are your cronies who got you elected happy? Are the labor unions happy? Have you paid off everybody on your election list yet? How much have you stashed away for you reelection? Are the turtles you built a tunnel for happy?
What about job creation? Or is that limited to the thousands of government jobs you are creating? How many jobs are your cap and trade policy going to create? How many new free-loading friends are going to get czar jobs to watch; what exactly will they be watching? Companies fleeing the country?
I guess you are going to make up the loss with green jobs. Would you explain again just what a green job is? We pay someone to cut our lawn once in awhile. Does that count as a green job? Can I apply for a grant somewhere? Maybe I can study the effect of the overall happiness of the guy who cuts our grass. Considering he was retired and lost a lot of money, in no small part due to you wise people in DC, he is now doing what he can to pay his bills.
Thankfully his wife got a job as a greeter at Wal-Mart. I'm not sure they really need her but they tend to hire people who most of you in DC like to sneer at. Have you heard of Wal-Mart?
We were going to have a super Wal-Mart built here but a small group of citizens, expressing concern for our environment and small businesses, got in their face about the impact a large business would have on our small community. Wal-Mart has the land but having put building on hold for several years. Maybe forever.
I wish we had their impact now. Wal-Mart would have paid lots of taxes. They would have hired lots of people. Maybe the people who had to close their small businesses anyway, could have gotten a job from them. I guess several businesses who wanted to open in the little store Wal-Mart is using now, will not be coming to our community.
I suppose that is what happens when a group of righteous people do not stop to think about the long term consequences of their actions, instead preferring to rush half cocked into something. Heck, they might even think that giving everybody free health care would be a good idea.
