Today is my birthday. Instead of having a party or celebration I like to take time to reflect about what has occurred this past year and what I plan on doing this coming year.
One year ago we were in the last stages of the endless campaign for president. Until Governor Sarah Palin arrived on the scene I did not think Senator McCain had a snowball's chance, in a very hot place, to win. I began to think perhaps there was a small chance, with her help, that he might pull it out.
It did not come as a big shock that Obama won but it was disappointing that so many people followed their emontions and did not think about their vote. They wanted “hope” and “change.”
Evidently the fact that he sat in a church pew for 20 years listening to a hateful person, had terrorist and Marxist pals, was a community organizer and trainer for ACORN and an insider in Chicago thug and cheat style politics, did not give them a clue as to what he hoped for and what he wanted to change.
It never occurs to most of these unthinking people that while for generations, liberals have paraded around pawns for their latest cause, that perhaps these people could make a better life for themselves if they were expected to take some personal responsibility and stopped listening to those who tell them they are victims of whatever the popular rant of the day is.
I am reading, "Liberal Fascism, The Secret History of the American Left, from Mussolini to the Politics of Change," by Johan Goldberg, a gift from my summer house guest who grew up in Albania when it was a communist country.
Let it suffice to say I will do everything in my power to keep my grandchildren from growing up in a government controlling everything country while smothering free speech, that this lovely woman had to endure.
As it is, my dear grandbabies already have more debt, before going to kindergarten, than students graduating from college do, because of this adminstrations rush to implement their version of utopia.
The liberals have had almost a century to implement their utopian plan for us, bit by bit, piece by piece. Their scare tactics, class envy, victim classes and crisis after crisis have aligned with the advent of Nancy, Harry and Berry in a place of power at the same time.
The late Senator Kennedy has been pushing government health care most of his senatorial life. His death at this moment, when things have not been going according to the leftist plan, has given this trio and their like-minded buddies, an opportunity to use him as a battle cry to take over a crucial chuck of government needed to completely control our behavior and bank accounts under the guise of health care.
If they really want to honor Kennedy, instead of destroying our system to the level of Banana Republic Care, why not give everybody the freedom to choose their health care the way he did and call it,"The World's Best Health Care for all, Kennedy Kare." Either that or join us in banana care nirvana.
